of sky and sanctuary

Friday, October 15 at 6:30pm

The MSU Denver dance program and the MSU Denver Center for Visual Art present Of sky and sanctuary. This performance event is inspired by works and themes featured in CVA’s Armor exhibition. Students from the Choreography 2 course engage with this compelling exhibition through original dance works that weave together stories and gestures that lie in the spaces between.

Dancers embody themes of vulnerability and protection, stasis and change, tenderness and courage, and individual and collective voices. In this liminal space, they traverse the seams and edges where inner sanctuaries meet open sky. The dancers’ raw physicality and poetic storytelling offer an invitation for the audience to journey through the imaginal realm of inner and outer worlds evoked in Of sky and sanctuary.

Of sky and sanctuary is free and open to the public, but space is limited, so please register in advance to reserve a spot. Please be advised that all MSU Denver COVID-19 protocols will be followed at this event, including mask usage.
