This Month on Social Media banner with open laptopA lot of the great conversations about Metropolitan State University of Denver happen online – which is why the Early Bird regularly highlights Roadrunner social-media buzz.

Here are some selections from our social-media pages that help show the real impact MSU Denver has on the lives of students, alumni, staff, faculty and the Denver community.

DREAMer Marissa Molina is one of two new MSU Denver trustees named by Gov. Jared Polis – making her the first Deferred Action Childhood Arrival recipient to serve on a Colorado state board. The Colorado Department of Education shared this great story on Molina’s journey.

Hospitality, Events and Tourism Professor Ethan Tsai spoke with 9News about MSU Denver’s Beer Industry Program and students’ participation in the U.S. Open College Beer Championship. The medal-winners and Grand National Collegiate Champion will be announced May 7. Good luck to our students!

The Beer Industry Program also got some nice shout-outs for our new Cask Micro-automated Canning System donated by Cask Global Canning Solutions. The Tivoli Brewing Co. and MSU Denver Beer Industry Program students are loving the new technology! Also see this great article on the partnership in Forbes.


MSU Denver students visiting a university in Scotland

Some MSU Denver students recently visited the University of the West of Scotland, an MSU Denver partner university. Students learned about work being done to support disadvantaged youth in Govan, an area in Glasgow.

L&L Systems Co. in Lakewood shared our RED story about Trisha McGuire-Collier and her work with Denver Water. We love it when local companies help spread the word about the great work of our alumni and students!

Last, but certainly not least, Mayor Michael B. Hancock was kind enough to reshare our RED story on the amazing #IAmDenver campaign. Also, the City of Denver shared a story contributed by Roadrunner Jazz Martinez.
