Military Appreciation Day, fireworks games set for Friday

President Janine Davison and MSU Denver baseball player on fieldMetropolitan State University of Denver Athletics will honor members of the military, past and present, with Military Appreciation Day on Friday at the Regency Athletic Complex.

Current and former military personnel will receive free admission to an eventful evening at the RAC. The Roadrunners will take on Regis University in a softball doubleheader starting at 4 p.m. on Friday, while the baseball team will take on No. 6-ranked Colorado Mesa University in a single game at 6 p.m.

Both matchups are crucial for conference tournament seeding. In baseball, the Roadrunners are third in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with a 19-9 league record, while Colorado Mesa is first at 22-6.

The Roadrunners softball team is fifth in the RMAC with a 19-13 record in league play, while Regis is seventh at 12-19.

All fans are encouraged to stay for a fireworks display that will follow the conclusion of all games.
