A single principle sits right at the heart of this multifaceted and often life-changing degree program: serving people

Human Services refers to the art and science of helping people. And at MSU Denver, students get just the right mix of hands-on experience and challenging study to become consummate and compassionate professionals. You can choose from two majors; Fire and Emergency Response Administration or Human Services. Within the Human Services major, you can choose between six study concentrations, which each offer clear career pathways: Addiction Studies, High Risk Youth Studies, Mental Health Counseling, Nonprofit Studies, Trauma Studies and Paramedic (transfer in credit only).  You can also pursue a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Behavioral Health, emphasis in Addictions Counseling.

Besides learning in small classes from professors who have worked in the field, there are countless opportunities to put your learning into practice. The course includes service learning, skill-building practicums, field experience and even study abroad. Ultimately, you’ll graduate with the right academic credentials and professional connections for a promising career dedicated to helping people.

Dr. Brian Bagwell
“The type of people we’re training are the ones who don’t run away from crisis; they run toward it. Getting more people trained properly to be leaders in the emergency response field is something our society really needs.”

Brian Bagwell
