Office of Testing Services

The mission and goal of the Office of Testing Services is to offer placement testing services to the Metropolitan State University of Denver student body. All first-time college students should complete first year placement exams before registering for their first-semester classes if their ACT or SAT scores are below state cutoff scores. Transfer and adult students are also required to take one or all of the exams if they do not have appropriate transfer credits. The exams measure college entry-level skills in writing and mathematics. Acacemic advisors will use the scores to determine the selection of appropriate courses.

The testing center offers a variety of other testing services in addition to placement exams, our exam services include:

  • Test proctoring service for "mostly on-line" courses (available fall 2021)
  • Departmental Testing (MFT, ISA, Senior Exit Exams, etc.)
  • HESI Nursing Admissions Exams
  • CLEP testing (open now! - see CLEP page for details)
