Placement Testing for mathematics and composition courses:
Students below the state cut scores on the SAT or ACT math sections (or students that have no ACT or SAT scores on record) may complete Accupalcer placement tests to enroll in math courses. The MSU Denver Math department uses the Accuplacer Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra and Statistics test (QAS) and the Accuplacer Advanced Algebra and Functions test (AAF) to place students in college level math courses. Students may also place in math courses using previous academic credit and in some cases high school GPA. Please see the Math Placement page for additional details.
Students below the state cut scores on the SAT or ACT English sections (or students that have no ACT or SAT scores on record) may place with the First Year Writing (FYW) placement. All students that complete the First Year Writing placement will be eligible for a college-level First Year Writing course. Students may also place in First Year Writing courses using previous academic credit. Please see the English Placement page for additional details.
Testing at home for Math placement:
Testing Services is offering Math virtual proctoring placement tests (take at home) via the link below.
Accuplacer Math placement tests are available to be taken at home using a high-speed internet connection and a webcam. Test administrations must be monitored using a webcam by a remote proctoring service.

Testing at home for English placement:
The MSU Denver Department of English allows students to complete the First Year Writing placement at home.

Testing on campus in Tivoli Room 347 for Math and English placement:
Accuplacer math placement tests are available on campus in Tivoli Room 347. Drop-in testing is available Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm. Please bring a photo ID and your student ID number.
