Forward in 2019

For TLTS 2019 we are aiming for a simple-but-engaging model for the conference. The day will start with coffee and snacks, last through lunch and end near 3 PM.

TLTS 2019 Agenda:

Please arrive a little early to grab some coffee and continental breakfast items

Opening Keynote

8:15 – 9:15 AM – Keynote Address
– Sean Michael Morris, author of “An Urgency of Teachers” (and MSU Denver alumni!).

Morning Sessions

9:30 – 10:30 AM – “Intentional Instructor Presence Online”
– Becky Cottrell and faculty learning community members

10:35 – 11:15 “The digital classroom: How technology supports universal design for learning.”
– Lincoln Davie

Lunch & GIFTS

11:20 AM to 12:10 PM

Some lunch tables hosted by contributors with “Great Ideas for Teaching” (GIFTs)*. Sit and enjoy the informal conversation, or choose another table for other conversations.

Afternoon Sessions

12:10 – 1:00 “Perspectives from Online MSU Denver Students”
– Student Panel facilitated by Ann Obermann

1:10 – 2:00 Discussion Panel
– Sean Michael Morris and some of the presenters will discuss the topics of the day and take questions from attendees.

Logistics and Details

When: Friday, October 11th. Starting at 8:00 AM and ending near 3:00 PM.
Where: Tivoli 320, Auraria Campus 
Who: Anyone interested in teaching, learning and sharing ideas.
Cost: Free!
Food: Coffee, water, a continental breakfast and a full lunch are included.

TLTS 2018 offered you more agency in shaping the event, using a topic board to identify the most relevant topics and focusing our collective work for the day.


2017 in Review

For those in attendance at TLTS 2017, we want to say thank you for your willingness and energy. Instead of a traditional session and track-based event which is passive in nature, TLTS now challenges attendees to think critically, work collaboratively, and take an active role in shaping the event, and those in attendance were certainly up to the task.
